What moves the price

The stage
More stages means more hours of machine work. One step is a few hours. Multi-step is days.
The size of the vehicle
A full-size SUV has far more paint than a coupe. Size moves the price at every stage.
The paint condition
Deep swirls, heavy oxidation and scratches take more passes than light haze.
The paint itself
Hard paint resists the polish and takes longer. Soft paint is quicker but easier to over-polish, so it takes care.
What comes next
Correction before ceramic coating or PPF is the best base for either. A coating or film locks in whatever is under it.

A good quote has

  • The stage, and why that stage fits your paint
  • An inspection under the lights before the work starts
  • What will and will not come out, since deep scratches can stay
  • Wash and decontamination included
  • What protects the paint after, like sealant or a coating
  • A pickup time

Questions

How much does paint correction cost in Rockford?
At Woks Detailing, Stage 1 starts at $299 on a coupe, Stage 2 at $799 and Stage 3 at $1,399. Across the U.S., one step is about $300 to $600 and two steps about $500 to $1,200.
Will paint correction remove every scratch?
Not always. If a scratch goes through the clear coat, polishing cannot safely remove it. We show you under the light what will and will not come out before we start.
Which stage do I need?
Light swirls and haze usually need Stage 1. Moderate swirls and light scratches need Stage 2. Stage 3 is for the best finish, or as the base before ceramic coating or PPF. We pick the stage after we look at your paint.
Do the results last?
The correction itself is permanent. Washing is what brings swirls back. A ceramic coating or PPF over it, plus careful washing, keeps it looking right.
Is paint correction safe for my paint?
Yes, when it is done carefully. We only take off what the result needs, because clear coat is thin and does not grow back.
